In the past, the 4‑H Table Setting contest has offered four table theme categories of Birthday, Casual, Formal and Picnic. For the 2025 Super Fair, the "Birthday" category of the 4‑H Table Setting contest has been changed to "Holiday."
Any holiday celebrated throughout the year may be used for this theme. In 2025, the four contest categories will be Holiday, Casual, Formal and Picnic. Each year, a new theme will be announced, and the remaining three themes will be rotated. As in the past, there will continue to be three age divisions within each theme: Junior (ages 8–10), Intermediate (ages 11–13) and Senior (ages 14–18). The updated "Procedures and Guidelines" handout is now available at https://go.unl.edu/table-setting. All holiday‑themed tables will need to compete in the "Holiday" category. For example, a 4th of July picnic or a formal Christmas dinner will compete in the "Holiday" category, instead of "Picnic" or "Formal," respectively.
The 2025 4‑H Table Setting Contest will be held on Friday, Aug. 1 during the Lancaster County Super Fair at the Sandhills Global Event Center, South Hall. Contact Kristin Geisert at kristin.geisert@unl.edu with questions.
