The College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska—Lincoln encourages students to pursue their passions and cultivate their talents to make their mark on the world. They have created the CASNR Change Maker Scholarship Competition to nurture the next generation of changemakers. This is an opportunity for 6th-11th grade students, incoming college freshmen or transfer students for 2025-26 and returning CASNR students for 2025-26 to receive a $1000 (high school students) or $5000 (college students) scholarship for a quick-pitch two-minute video showcasing their idea to create positive change in the world.
The Change Maker scholarship competition opens on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024 and applications will be accepted through Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025.
The video submission should address one or more of the grand challenges: feeding the world; water for the future; new energy; climate and the future; biodiversity, sustainability and environmental; health; engaging diverse communities; and developing tomorrow’s leaders. The judging panel will also consider creativity in the content selection and presentation, effectiveness in highlighting how your idea will lead to a more sustainable, healthy, secure and/or joyous world and the overall quality of the presentation in their scoring considerations. Visit the CASNR website for more information and submission rules.
CASNR Change Makers have gone on to create small businesses, take part in cutting-edge research, impact their communities in meaningful ways, and make connections that will last.
