The National 4‑H AI Community Challenge is a first‑of‑its‑kind virtual competition, centering around making a virtual science fair board to answer the question,
“How can AI be used to solve a problem in my community?”
Youth ages 13–18 explore a community‑based issue, develop a solution and create a 2‑minute pitch video to share the idea. You are invited to think critically and creatively about how AI could make a positive impact in your community — whether in agriculture, health, education, the environment or any issue you care about. You identify a problem, then work with generative AI to identify a proposed solution (you choose which AI software to use). Note: You will not need to implement your solution.
CHALLENGE DETAILS:
• Open to youth ages 13–18 as of April 1, 2025 (more fun AI learning opportunities for younger participants will be coming later!)
• 4‑H enrollment is not required.
• No cost to participate.
• Nebraska submissions are due by Sunday, May 11, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. CT.
• For Nebraska submissions, there are two age categories: Nebraska 13–15 and Nebraska 16–18.
• Nebraska state winners receive prizes and the top two advance to Nationals in June.
• The overall top Nebraska winner (provided they are otherwise eligible) will receive an all‑expenses‑paid trip from Omaha to the 2026 “Ignite by 4-H” four‑day summit in Washington, D.C.
