Nebraska 4-H Leadership Academy is a pilot, state-level experience inspired by the National 4‑H Leadership Academy program founded in honor of the late Joel Roth. This is a one-year opportunity designed for Nebraska 4‑H youth to grow as leaders, build connections across the state and make a meaningful impact in their communities.

Participants (Roth Scholars) will engage in leadership development, mentorship and immersive learning experiences. Selected youth will receive a $500 stipend for completion of the program.

Roth Scholars Participate In:
• Advanced leadership development and skill-building
• Mentorship and coaching opportunities
• Statewide gatherings and immersive learning experiences
• Opportunities to share youth voice and influence change within Nebraska 4‑H and beyond

Applicants Must:
• Be in their sophomore year of high school
• Be an active Nebraska 4‑H member
• Be able to commit to a one-year program that includes both virtual and in-person experiences
• Be available for program kickoff in late summer (final dates to be confirmed)

Program Commitment Expectations:
• Approximately one virtual meeting per month
• Completion of readings, reflections and preparation activities
• Participation in in-person statewide events (approximately 2 events total)
