New 4-H dog club

A new dog club, "4 On The Floor," will begin its 4-H program in January 2019. This club will focus on obedience until May with a formal graduation ceremony at that time. Through the summer months, obedience will be reinforced and reviewed with the addition of showmanship. This will prepare the members for Lancaster County Fair and potentially State Fair.

Meeting times will be Thursday evenings beginning on January 3, 2019 at 6:45 p.m. at the 4-H office at the Event Center, located by Pavilion 3. They will be every other week, with a summer schedule (after May) to be determined. Meetings will last around an hour.

Members should be able to maintain general control of their dog before joining "4 On The Floor." A training collar (also known as a choke chain) will be required and a six foot leather leash. All dogs must have updated vaccination records and a copy must be provided to the club leader.

Training a dog is a lifelong skill and also a fun and fulfilling 4-H project. Consider joining "4 On The Floor!" Please feel free to contact club leader, John Croghan, at 402-957-3651 with any questions.
