The Farm Credit Services of America’s Working Here Fund (https://www.fcsamerica.com/about/community-involvement/working-here-fund-grants) provides opportunities for organizations to apply for community grants to fund projects that make a positive, long-term impact in the areas of Ag Education, Rural Disaster Relief, Young and Beginning Producer Programs, and Hunger and Nutrition.
Grant recipients have included the following organizations and project types:
· Community gardens and greenhouses, tower gardens, hydroponics, aquaponics, etc.
· FFA chapters, 4H Groups, and Ag in the Classroom
· Food-to-Fork programs and ag literacy programs for children
· Women in agriculture and agriculture education curriculums
· Food bank and food pantries, backpack hunger relief programs
· Fairground upgrades
· Disaster relief efforts
· Fire department grain bin rescue equipment
Applications for the current $2,000 grant period can be completed online (through September 30, 2019. Grants are determined based on the specific selection criteria and results will be communicated via mailed letter in October 2019. The next grant application period for the $2,000 grants will run October 1 through December 31, 2019. The $10,000 grant application period runs June 1 through December 31, 2019.
