Health’s Early Roots and Origins (HERO) Research Assistant Position open!
• UNMC/Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in collaboration with Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University Seeking: Clinical Research Assistant (employed by UNMC, working in Lincoln, NE)
• Overview: This part-time position will assist with patient consent, enrollment, specimen collection and data collection on a large clinical research study assessing indices of excessive stress activation in children. This will be assessed through simple, non-invasive collections of biological samples as well as a brief behavioral measure of executive function—all collectable within a few minutes during a pediatric office visit. The study will look at these stress biomarkers to enhance the capacity of well-child care.

• Your first step toward seeing the world! The Education Abroad Office is helping 100 Huskers get their first passport for FREE through their new giveaway.
• Here’s what you need to do
o Go to go.unl.edu/passportgiveaway
o Click Apply Now and sign in to MyWorld with your Canvas ID and password
o Fill out the online form
• Students must be a current UNL undergraduate, a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, and applying for their first passport.
• Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Peace Corps Prep Launch
Tuesday, Sept. 28th, 4-6pm, Wick Alumni Center
• Integrating coursework, hands-on experience, and professional development, the Peace Corps Prep program prepares undergraduates for international development fieldwork and potential Peace Corps service. Students build four core competencies: sector-specific skills (Education, Health, Environment, Agriculture, Youth in Development, or Community Economic Development), foreign language proficiency, intercultural competence, and professional savvy and leadership.
• All UNL students, faculty, and staff and returned Peace Corps volunteers are welcome to attend the launch to help celebrate and learn more!
