Legal History UCARE Project
Application Deadline: February 15th
• Petitioning for Freedom is recruiting UCARE students for summer 22 and AY 22-23 to assist on our digital legal history project. We are working with thousands of habeas corpus petitions dating 1812-1924 that tell the stories of Black, Indigenous, immigrant, dependent, and institutionalized petitioners throughout the American West. Researchers will gain invaluable digital and legal history research goals and professional development mentoring. This opportunity is ideal for humanities and social science majors interested in racial and social justice careers that connect the past to the present for a more just and equitable future.
• Interested students can review UCARE guidelines and email Dr. Jagodinsky at kjagodinsky@unl.edu if they would like to apply.
