Nebraska Today Editing Intern

University Communications seeks to hire a content editing intern for Nebraska Today, the chancellor’s online news source for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln community.

This position works directly with the editor of Nebraska Today and other team members to prepare and schedule event, news and feature stories for publication online and for inclusion in an electronic newsletter. A Nebraska Today intern gains experience working in an active newsroom while also learning about public relations and the management of internal communications.

Applicants should have at least one semester of editing experience. They should also have a strong understanding of AP Style, eye for detail, ability to work on deadline and news writing experience. Effective written and oral communication skills are also necessary.

Preference will be given for students seeking experience in journalism, communications, or related fields.

Work hours are available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Total work hours vary, with a maximum of 15 per week. Pay is $10 per hour.

Position is for the spring semester, but may continue into summer and the fall semester.
