1-credit, weeklong, study abroad course designed for students interested in public affairs, government relations, political science, and public policy. Taught by Dr. Shari Veil, the course develops skills in public relations strategy, media relations, crisis management and an understanding of military and governmental policy interplay.
Highlights include planned visits to the US Embassies to Belgium and the European Union, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), European Union Council, as well as agencies and news bureaus specializing in public policy and government affairs. These experiences, along with guest lectures, case-based analyses and public communication exercises, will provide a comprehensive understanding of military public affairs and government relations.
