We are so excited to welcome our new and returning students to campus this week! It's always exciting to see the transition that fall brings to campus every year! We have a big semester ahead as a department. First, our new major advisor, Timothy Turnquist, has taken the reigns of advising and is excited to meet with each of you as you make decisions about coursework, consider declaring a Communication major, and seek out ways to gain experience to complement your academic experience here on campus. Stop in and see him in 403 Oldfather Hall and be looking for notes from him in our Advising Corner here in COMM Connections. We are also preparing to move our department from our longtime home on the 4th floor of Oldfather Hall, to the 3rd floor of Louise Pound Hall (formerly CBA). We're really excited about our new space and look forward to making it our own sometime this semester! We are anxious to welcome a number of exciting guest scholars to campus and our department this semester-- we'll keep you posted on those as they come up. Dr. Kathy Castle is also seeking out students who may be interested in forming an advisory board for the undergraduate major sometime this academic year. If you are a declared Communication Studies major and have an interest in being a part of this, please reach out to Dr. Castle at kcastle4@unl.edu or stop by her office in OLD 441 to inquire. We are all very excited to work with you all this semester and look forward to a great academic year!
