A Message from President Tony Lazarowicz

Welcome to 2019. There is so much excitement surrounding 2019 here at the Nebraska. You may have noticed a new university-wide website branding, a number of exciting events tied to our university’s sesquicentennial celebrations, and the N150 commission’s report, guiding the university’s vision for the next 25 years will be released as part of the chancellor’s State of the University address. As UAAD approaches 2019, the executive team met today to continue planning events for the spring. There will be several opportunities to get involved in the coming months, so please pay attention to your e-mails for updates on dates.

January will include our joint UAAD/UNOPA meeting, which is being hosted by UNOPA this year. For those of you who are new to UAAD, UNOPA is our sister organization and stands for the University of Nebraska Office Professionals Association. Each year we join for one meeting as the larger body of representative staff across campus. This year’s meeting on January 22nd will be in the East Union- Arbor Suite. We are fortunate to have Executive Vice Chancellor Plowman joining us, so please mark your calendar to attend. There is an RSVP in the next news heading below.

February will start off on a Souper note! Join us on February 1st for the Souper Bowl Lunch at the NET building. Also make plans to attend our annual Founders Day Celebration on February 20th. We’ll be having the event in the City Campus Union and this is always a great moment to reflect on the legacy of UAAD and recognize the hard work of campus members who were nominated for the Donaldson and Oldt Awards.

Thanks for all you do to make our campus a great place to work! I’m excited for what is ahead in 2019 and I hope you are too! #InOurGritOurGlory
