One way the Center for Academic Success and Transition (CAST) supports student success is through Academic Success Coaching. Students can make appointments to meet one-on-one with a member of the CAST team. Coaches get to know the students, supporting them as they work towards their goals and troubleshoot issues they might be facing in classes or on campus. When a student meets with a coach, they’ll create an action plan that will help them develop new skills and strategies they can use to be successful.

The most common topics coaches support students with are time management, study skills, test preparation, reading strategies, and note-taking. Students can also receive support on stress management, procrastination, and motivation.

Students can schedule a coaching appointment through MyPLAN, stopping by the CAST office in Love Library 127, or calling 402-472-1880. Coaches are available Monday-Friday from 8:00-5:00 pm in-person and on Zoom. Students can also visit with CAST every Monday on East Campus by appointment.
