Public Policy Analysis Certificate (PPAC)

The certificate consists of 18 credit hours, and the requirements include:
Level I: two courses on public policy (POLS 235 and POLS 236)
Level II: one course in intergroup communication (interdisciplinary options)
Level III: two upper-division courses within their desired policy content area (interdisciplinary options)
Level IV: a policy related internship that can be done through the Political Science department or the student’s home department

Currently there are 14 content area options for the Level III coursework, ranging from Economic Policy to Health Policy to Gender Policy. If students are already taking a course found within one of the levels above for their major or minor, the course can be counted for the PPAC too.
