Duties
• Digitize historic preservation collections including building survey photographs, state historic tax credit projects (blueprints and site plans), USGS and plat maps, site files (newspaper articles, letters, photographs), historical marker files and other related historic preservation materials.
• Use and learn how to digitize materials using specialized scanner equipment.
• Learn number tracking and name filing systems in order to organize final digitized images on the computer.
Preferred Skills
• Basic understanding of Nebraska history and geography
• Knowledge of and use of scanning equipment
• Knowledge of and use of Windows operating system
• An interest in history or architecture would be helpful as this work study involves digitizing historic preservation collections
10 hours per week, weekdays only. Flexible schedule to fit with student’s class schedule. This position is based at History Nebraska headquarters, located on campus, at 1500 R Street, immediately east of the student union. Pay is $10/hour.
Must be a full or part-time student at UNL and be awarded work study for the 2019-2020 academic year.
