The Women's and LGBTQA+ Centers are hosting the annual Gender Equity Conference surrounding intersectionality, leadership, advocacy, social justice, and community impact on November 11 from 9a-4:30pm in the Nebraska Union. They are looking for local and/or student artists and are hoping to showcase art by marginalized creators.
Art will have to be screened prior to the conference, so preliminary photos and digital pieces can be sent to lgbtqa.library@unl.edu by November 1st. Those who submit preliminary photos should provide information regarding the piece (i.e. title, artist, date, materials) as well as an artist headshot, bio, and any other promotional information in the event that their piece is accepted.
Submissions featuring gore or sexual nudity will not be considered as this is a family friendly event. Physical items will need to be dropped off at the LGBTQA+ Center, third floor of the Nebraska Union by Wednesday, November 10th at 5pm. All pieces will be displayed the duration of the conference, and will need to be picked up by Friday, November 12th by 2pm, also in the LGBTQA+ Center.
