• March 24: Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Lecture: Deb Schwartzkopf, ceramics. 5:30 p.m. The lecture will be held via Zoom: https://unl.zoom.us/j/99934128248. Ceramic artist Deb Schwartzkopf was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, and earned a bachelor of arts at the University of Alaska in 2002. She worked for studio potters in the Anchorage area, which gave her a strong foundation to spring from. Following that, she focused on glazes for a year of independent study at San Diego State University; after which she completed a masters of fine arts at Penn State in 2005.

• March 25: The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is hosting Late Night Dish It Up: Rise of Hate Crime Against Asians, a conversation about Anti-Asian Violence with student leaders and faculty. Dish It Up is a safe space for students, staff, and faculty to share their personal views, engage in civil discussion, and learn from others. • March 31: Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Lecture: Joel Damon, foundations. 5:30 p.m. The lecture will be held via Zoom: https://unl.zoom.us/j/93925142986. Designer Joel Damon is a curator, artist, and designer from Nebraska. Since 2014, his art practice has evolved from painting and installation to one of service. He co-founded Project Project in South Omaha as a space of freedom and experimentation for regional artists and to test the limits and longevity of an active arts space where money is not a driving force and donors have no say in what is exhibited.

• April 7-11: Nebraska Repertory Theatre presents "Home." Performances are 7:30 p.m. April 6-10 and 2 p.m. April 11. Experience the St. Louis Black Rep’s moving production of Samm-Art Williams’ Tony-nominated play, "Home." This poetic drama tells the story of Cephaus Miles, a prodigal son, whose search for fulfillment takes an unexpected turn. All performances will be virtually streamed and are offered free of charge. • April 7: Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Lecture: Noel Anderson. 5:30 p.m. via Zoom. Free and open to the public. The lecture will be accessible at https://unl.zoom.us/j/97084898481. Printmaker Noel W. Anderson received his master of fine arts degree in printmaking from Indiana University and an MFA from Yale University in sculpture. He is currently the area head of printmaking in NYU’s Steinhardt Department of Art and Art Professions. Anderson utilizes print-media, arts-based-research, and philosophical inquiry as frameworks to investigate mediated productions of black masculinities.

• April 14: Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Lecture: Kristian Bjornard. 5:30 p.m. via Zoom. The lecture is free and open to the public. Access the lecture at https://unl.zoom.us/j/95602330213. Bjornard is the director of The Office of Kristian Bjornard, a graphic design practice focusing on books, identities, websites and digital tools.

• April 14: Husker Bassoons in Concert. 7:30 p.m. No in-person audience. The live webcast link will be available at https://arts.unl.edu/music/webcast/bassoon-studio. Bassoon students in the studio of Dr. Nathan Koch will present a delightful concert of bassoon trios and quartets that demonstrate the wide range of expressive possibilities of the instrument. The program will include both original compositions and arrangements of music by Astor Piazzolla, Francisco Mignone, Julius Weissenborn, and others, juxtaposing the traditional musical styles of South America and late-Romantic trends of 19th-century Germany. In order to ensure the safety of all participants, performers will be spaced at least 6 feet apart, wear face masks while playing, and cover the bell of the instrument with approved materials. These precautions have a detrimental effect on the acoustical properties of the instrument, so please excuse the slightly muffled tone color in certain registers.
