Henson’s project receives Rural Drug Addiction Research Center funding

Anna Henson, an assistant professor of practice in emerging media arts in the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts, has received $25,000 for one year of support with the option for an additional $25,000 in second-year support from the Rural Drug Addiction Research Center for her pilot project.

The pilot project is titled “My Body Is A Resource: Creation and Use of the Somatic Avatar Toolkit in the Context of Drug Addiction Recovery with Rural Populations.” Her research involves virtual reality (VR) and the use of avatars as part of recovery from drug addiction.
