• Feb. 23: We Are Nebraska Internship performances. 5 and 7:30 p.m. The Lied Center's Johnny Carson Theater (11th and Q sts, between the Lied Center and Westbrook Music Building). Free and open to the public. Seating is limited and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The We Are Nebraska internship recruits Nebraska students from all colleges and backgrounds. Using improvisational methods, students explore their personal stories with social impact, and then present them in a theatrical experience to inspire educate and entertain students, faculty and staff and the local community.

• Feb. 23-March 6: Nebraska Repertory Theatre presents "The Way to the Way" by Andy Park. Visit https://nebraskarep.org for showtimes and ticket information. The University of Nebraska Lincoln encourages that masks be worn in situations where social distancing cannot be maintained. Following this directive, we request that masks be worn at all Nebraska Repertory Theatre performances. Centuries ago, in ancient China, a wise and humble old sage named Lao-Tzu mounted an ox and journeyed to the Western Gate. Before disappearing into the mountains of Tibet, he composed one of the most profound books ever written, the Tao Te Ching (The Book of The Way). Join Nebraska Rep as we explore the eternal Tao with breathtaking visuals, large-scale puppetry and enduring wisdom for the ages.

• Feb. 28-March 3: Theatrix presents "Based on a Totally True Story." 7:30 p.m. each night. Lab Theatre, 3rd floor of the Temple Building. Tickets are $7 general admission and $5 students and are available at https://unltheatretickets.universitytickets.com/ or cash only at the door. "Based on a Totally True Story," by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and directed by Philip Crawford, tells the story of Ethan, a semi-successful comic book writer by day (he writes “The Flash” for DC Comics) and a struggling playwright by night. Ethan’s world is turned upside down when a veteran Hollywood producer decides she wants to turn one of Ethan’s unproduced plays into a big-budget horror movie—possibly starring Nicole Kidman. Hearts are broken, lessons learned and dreams deferred in this quirky, offbeat romantic comedy of manners.

• March 4 and 6: UNL Opera presents "She Loves Me." Performances are March 4 at 7:30 p.m. and March 6 at 3 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall. Tickets are $20 adults and $10 seniors/students, available in advance from the Lied Box Office at (402) 472-4747 or at the door. The romantic comedy told with sparkling music features a cast of 20 of UNL’s award-winning students directed by Belflower and conducted by Professor and Director of Orchestras Tyler White.

• March 7: Faculty Recital: Paul Haar, saxophone. 7:30 p.m. Westbrook Music Building Rm. 119. Free and open to the public. The concert will also be live webcast. Haar has contributed his notable talent to numerous projects in both the jazz and classical genres and is recognized as being one of the most versatile saxophonists today.

• March 9: Jazz Singers and Jazz Orchestra Performance. 7:30 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Free and open to the public. The concert will also be live webcast. Visit https://music.unl.edu/webcasts the day of the performance for the link. The UNL Jazz Singers is a small choir, open to all members of the University community by audition. The Jazz Orchestra is the university’s showcase jazz organization and one of the Glenn Korff School of Music’s most visible performing groups.

• March 10: Symphonic Band Performance. 7:30 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Free and open to the public. The concert will also be live webcast. The Symphonic Band, under the direction of Anthony Falcone, has the distinction of being the band program’s top symphonic ensemble.

• March 10: Evening of Choirs. 7:30 p.m. Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2110 Sheridan Blvd. Free and open to the public. Evening of Choirs will include All-Collegiate Choir, University Chorale and Varsity Chorus.

The Flyover New Music Series, aka Flyover New Music, is the new music series from the composition studio at the Glenn Korff School of Music.

• March 26-27: Nebraska Repertory Theatre presents "Traveling Shoes." Performances are March 26 at 7:30 p.m. and March 27 at 2 p.m. in the Lab Theatre, 3rd floor of the Temple Building. Tickets are available at https://nebraskarep.org. Directed by Ron Himes, the founder and producing director of the St. Louis Black Repertory Company. A collage of poetry, prose, music and dance. Join Nebraska Rep for a moving, original performance piece conceived and directed by Himes in collaboration with students from The Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film. The production continues The Rep's partnership with the St. Louis Black Repertory Company.

• March 27: Mu Phi Epsilon Founders Day Celebration Recital. 3 p.m. Westbrook Music Building Rm. 119. Free and open to the public.

One of the most active and visible quintets in the Midwest, the Moran Woodwind Quintet is the resident faculty woodwind quintet of the Glenn Korff School of Music.
