The registration fee covers lunch, parking, college experiences, FHU gifts and additional snacks on July 14. The residence hall and Thursday activities have additional costs.
The Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts is offering two classes at Future Husker University:
• Logo Mania: Discovering the Graphic Designer in You taught by Assistant Professor of Practice in Graphic Design Jen Landis. In this graphic design class, you will learn the basics of creating your very own logo. Learn about the elements of design, like color, shape and typography, and how to use them to create a logo you love. Landis loves encouraging young artists to explore new ways to express themselves and gain confidence through art. She is the also the creative director and owner of Pincurl Girls, a company that inspires young girls to believe in and love themselves.
• Storytelling on Stage taught by Assistant Professor of Lighting Michelle Harvey. Every TV show, movie, TikTok or play you watch starts as an idea in someone’s head. Come to UNL’s historic Temple Building to see how one idea can be made into a full story that’s designed to be acdted out and told on the theatre stage. Harvey came back to Nebraska in 2020 from Kansas City Repertory Theatre where she helped bring many plays to life as the lighting designer. She’s a Husker herself, holding a bachelor’s degree in theatre arts from UNL.
