On Saturday, April 22, Shelley Brackhan Fritz (B.F.A. 1993) and Kari Swanson Neth (B.F.A. 1993) from the UNL Dance Alumni Board hosted an alumni meet and greet at Screamers Family Restaurant following the Evenings of Dance concert.
Associate Professor of Dance Susan Levine Ourada introduced graduating seniors Ally Akerberg, Lanie Allen, Taylor Butterfield, Ciera Carlson and Valerie Gust, who were welcomed into alumni life and encouraged in their future endeavors.
Dance alumna Jordan Patt (B.A. 2018), who was also a visiting guest artist, discussed her choreography in the spring concert. Allen also discussed her piece, which was also in the spring concert and included in the American College Dance Association North-Central Regional Conference held at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in March.
Fritz introduced attending dance alumni and provided information on the Dance Alumni Board’s monthly Zoom meetings and encouraged dance alumni to join and contribute to the UNL Dance Alumni group on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/unldancealumni). Neth invited everyone attending to contribute to the UNL Dance Alumni Endowment Fund (https://unldancealumni.org) to ensure that the dance program continues to thrive and flourish.
The UNL Dance Alumni Endowment Fund has raised $14,155.45. The goal is to reach $15,000 by the end of May. Make a donation at https://unldancealumni.org. Any amount will make a huge difference to current and future generations of dance students. Thank you for your consideration.
