Tickets will go on sale July 1 at https://nebraskarep.org.
“Our lineup promises to explore the boundaries between reality and perception, and the fluidity of truth,” said Hank Stratton, director of the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film and executive director of the Nebraska Repertory Theatre. “We look forward to sharing these extraordinary stories with our audiences.”
The season begins with “Eurydice” by Sara Ruhl and directed by Associate Professor of Theatre David Long. Performances are Oct. 2-12. “Eurydice” is a poetic reimagining of the Orpheus myth set in a surreal underworld filled with talking stones, strange elevators and forgotten memories. The play explores themes of love, grief, memory, and the difficulty of communication between the living and the dead.
Next in the season is Ken Ludwig’s adaptation of Agatha Christie’s “Murder on the Orient Express,” directed by guest director Brendon Fox. Performances are Nov. 13-23. Set aboard a luxurious train stranded by a snowstorm, the play follows the brilliant detective Hercule Poirot as he investigates the murder of a passenger unraveling a web of secrets among an eccentric cast of suspects.
The spring semester begins with Kim Rosenstock’s “Tigers Be Still,” directed by UNL alumna Lori Adams. Performances are Feb. 19-March 1, 2026. This dark comedy follows a young woman’s struggle to reclaim hope and stability after a period of depression. The play blends humor with an emotional depth revealing the courage it takes to move forward when life feels out of control.
The season concludes with the musical “Bright Star,” by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell and produced in association with UNL Opera. Performances are April 16-26, 2026. “Bright Star” is a bluegrass-infused musical that weaves together past and present as it follows a woman’s search for redemption and reunion in 1940s North Carolina. The guest director and choreographer is Broadway actor and dancer Robert Pieranunzi, who performed with the original Broadway cast.
