Check out the recent news from our alumni:

• Karlie Sines (B.M.E. 2021; M.M. 2024), was one of 200 quarterfinalists for the 2026 Music Educator Award from The Recording Academy and Grammy Museum. The semifinalists will be announced in September, and the winner will be revealed during Grammy Week. The award recognizes current educators—kindergarten through college and public and private schools—who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music education and who demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining music education in the schools. Sines is the 5th-8th grade vocal and instrumental director at Holdrege Middle School in Holdrege, Nebraska.

• Maria Smal (B.A. Theatre and B.S.B.A. 2021) appears as Sam in episodes 1 and 6 of "The Warehouse Phase" streaming now on Peacock. The series is about Chi, an overlooked musician, who begrudgingly dives into the world of content creation and influencers in the unapologetic pursuit of his ultimate goal—fame.
