Seven faculty and three staff members received Hixson-Lied Faculty and Staff Awards at the College’s Honors Day celebration on April 26.
Funding support from the Hixson-Lied Endowment was created to establish an ongoing awards program for faculty and staff, to recognize outstanding performance and accomplishments in the areas of teaching, research and creative activity, faculty service, outreach and engagement, and staff service to the College and University.
The College Distinguished Teaching Award is given to a faculty member who has demonstrated exemplary accomplishment in teaching. This year’s recipient was Associate Professor of Dance Susan Levine Ourada.
The Leadership Award in Curriculum or Programmatic Development is given to a faculty member who has demonstrated exemplary accomplishment in curriculum or programmatic development. This year’s recipient was Brian Moore, Associate Professor of Music Education and Music Technology.
The Achievement Award in Academic Advising is given to a faculty member who has demonstrated exemplary accomplishment in academic advising. This year's recipient was Associate Professor of Music Education and Musical Psychology Robert Woody.
The Junior Faculty Achievement Award in Teaching is given to a junior faculty member who has demonstrated exemplary accomplishment in teaching. This year's recipient was Assistant Professor of Practice Marissa Vigneault from the Department of Art and Art History.
The Senior Faculty Achievement Award in Research and Creative Activity is given to a faculty member who has held an ongoing appointment in the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts for at least 10 years, who has demonstrated exemplary accomplishment in research or creative activity. This year's recipient was Associate Professor of Art Eddie Dominguez.
The Junior Faculty Achievement Award in Research and Creative Activity is given to a faculty member who has held an ongoing appointment in the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts for nine years or less, who has demonstrated exemplary accomplishment in research or creative activity. This year's recipient was Associate Professor of Music History Tony Bushard.
The Faculty Award for Outstanding Outreach, Engagement or Service is given to a faculty member who has demonstrated exemplary accomplishment in outreach, engagement or service. This year’s recipient was Professor of Art Dana Fritz.
The Staff Award for Outstanding Service is given to a staff member who has demonstrated exemplary service to the College or Academic Unit. Three staff awards were presented: Kassandra Hill, who serves as Business Manager for the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center; Michael Reinmiller, Digital Arts Support Technician in the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts; and Ann Watson, Sewing Technician in the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film.
