“Hair” isn’t the only theatre that premiered in 1968. The Nebraska Repertory Theatre was also founded in 1968 and will celebrate its 50th anniversary at a special “The Spirt of ‘68” celebration on Saturday, April 20 in the Temple Building.

Individual tickets are just $19.68 and available at https://go.unl.edu/spirit68.

Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, drinks and a spectacle performance featuring live music, large-scale puppetry and stilt dancing.

“We are putting on an incredible event where we are going to bring folks back—I call them Rep Royalty—people that are very important to the Rep that have done a lot for the organization over the years. We’re going to honor them, but also honor the Rep and put on this huge celebration,” said Nebraska Repertory Theatre Artistic Director Andy Park.

A “huge performance” is planned, Park said, along with the debut of a tribute video for the Rep’s 50th anniversary.

“It’s going to be a great deal of fun,” Park said. “I’m really looking forward to it.”
