Photographer Andrea Modica will present the first Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist & Scholar Lecture for the Spring '19 semester on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 5:30 p.m. in Richards Hall Rm. 15. The lectures are free and open to the public.
The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s School of Art, Art History & Design’s Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist & Scholar Lecture Series brings notable artists, scholars and designers to Nebraska each semester to enhance the education of students.
Andrea Modica is a Guggenheim Fellow, a Fulbright Scholar and a Knight Award recipient. Her extensive exhibition record includes solo exhibitions at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art and the San Diego Museum of Photographic Arts. Her photographs are part of the permanent collections of numerous institutions, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Museum, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Smithsonian, the International Museum of Photography and Film at the George Eastman House, and the Bibliotheque Nationale. She lives in Philadelphia where she works as a photographer and teaches at Drexel University and the International Center of Photography.
