Printmaker Shannon Brock will present the next Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist & Scholar lecture for the Spring '19 semester on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 5:30 p.m. in Richards Hall Rm. 15. The lectures are free and open to the public.
The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s School of Art, Art History & Design’s Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist & Scholar Lecture Series brings notable artists, scholars and designers to Nebraska each semester to enhance the education of students.
Papermaker and artist Shannon Brock is Art Director of Carriage House Paper, founder of Gaptoothed Studio in Brooklyn, NY, and President and skater of Gotham Girls Roller Derby. Shannon formed her first sheet of paper in 1990 and has spent the past 28 years developing her techniques and finding new ways to manipulate plant fibers. She has taught papermaking throughout the US and Australia. Her pulp paintings and sculptural work are exhibited nationally and internationally.
