2021 Quarter-Scale Tractor Team
2021 Quarter-Scale Tractor Team

Congratulations to our Quarter-Scale Tractor teams on receiving several awards at the International Quarter-Scale Tractor Student Design Competition. The team placed 2nd overall, earning the Safety award, 2nd place in the design report, and 2nd place in the team presentation. The X-Team was first overall and also placed first in both the design presentation and written report. They also won one of the pulling events which was "no small feat as the team had to extract the transmission, rebuild it completely and reinstall it while pulling was going on after suffering a catastrophic gear failure during practice pulls – 18 of 21 teeth were sheared from one gear," Roger Hoy noted.

Becca Francis was among the graduate students who won awards at the Student Research Days. Becca's project was titled “Development of Nitric Oxide Testing Methodology to Investigate the Impact of Reactive Species on Breast Cancer Cells.”

Alex Schellpeper (AENG) and Abigail Smith (BSEN) were named 2020-2021 Outstanding Departmental Seniors by the College of Engineering. View all the award winners here.

Connor Gee, MS student in Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering advised by Forrest Kievit, and Ivon Acosta Ramirez, PhD student in Biological Engineering advised by Nicole Iverson, received the Milton Mohr Fellowship Award.
