John Hay was interviewed on Nebraska TV for his part in helping make Scratchtown Nebraska's first solar powered brewery.

Yufeng Ge was featured in Nebraska in the national news: April 2021 for his part of a multi-institution team that has earned a three-year, $450,000 New Innovator Award from the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research to study and combat soil compaction on farms. Stories on the project appeared in Fruit Growers News, Seed Today and Vegetable Growers News.

Daran Rudnick was featured in Nebraska in the national news: April 2021 for co-authoring a new study identifying obstacles and solutions to improve performance and adoption of irrigation decision support tools at the field scale. They are working on technology to fill this need and are testing it in irrigated fields in Nebraska. Stories on the research appeared in AgDaily, Brownfield Ag News, Seed Today and several other media outlets.

Rebecca Wachs was featured on “She’s a Scientist,” a video series launched by University Communication to highlight the work of female researchers at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The video features Rebecca's work on helping reduce opioid addiction as the drug is prescribed in roughly a third of low back pain cases.

Suat Irmak was mentioned by Nebraska Today for being elected as an ASCE-EWRI Fellow for his significant contributions to the research platforms, scientific understanding and education in water resources and irrigation engineering in national and international platforms. The fellows will be recognized during the Virtual 2021 World Environmental and Water Resources Congress on June 7.

Mark Riley was among the 31 Husker researchers named NSRI Fellows. The National Strategic Research Institute at the University of Nebraska has launched NSRI Fellows to amplify the university system’s research contributions to the Department of Defense and other federal agencies with national security missions.
