A research team, including Professor George Meyer, have received a 2018 Award of Excellence from the Northeastern Regional Association of State Agricultural Experiment Station Directors (NERA). Their project, NE1335, studies Resource Management in Commercial Greenhouse Production.

George is a co-PI on the five-year project, which is scheduled to conclude this September. NE1335 addresses resource management issues related to water and nutrient applications within commercial greenhouses.

The multi-institutional and interdisciplinary collaboration analyzed crop systems as a whole by utilizing professors from various focus areas. George represented the University of Nebraska in Greenhouse Engineering.

NERA is a coalition of Directors of fifteen state agricultural experiment stations throughout the northeast US. They presented NE1335 at their 2018 Northeast Joint Summer Session held in Bethany Beach, Delaware, from June 4-6.
