Name: Emily Arkfeld
Job Title: Special Topics Trainer

Where do you hail from:
Bellevue, NE

Who are your early influences/who inspired you most:
I don’t know that I recognized it when I was younger, but looking back on my life and where I ended up I would say that my Grandpa started the chain of influence and inspiration to be a helper.

What has been your greatest source of career satisfaction/ proudest achievement:
Through my previous careers as a recreation therapist and then a school social worker, I have really enjoyed the connections I made with the youth and the opportunity to watch them grow into adulthood.

Family life/hobbies /community involvement:
We are home bodies, but enjoy spending time with our extended family and our 3 year old daughter and 8 month old son keep us entertained!

The quotation I live my life by is…
“To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
