As seen in Nebraska Today:

Chancellor Ronnie Green and Marco Barker, vice chancellor for diversity and inclusion, will lead an upcoming discussion on advancing equity and combating injustice as part of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s CEO Action commitment.

Barker will kick off the event by framing the conversation before Green offers remarks and answers questions from attendees. A networking session will allow attendees to connect with their fellow employees in discussing ways to further equity and inclusion in their work environments, along with the behaviors and barriers standing in the way of those goals.

The event will wrap with an introduction of My Husker Action, which will encourage Huskers to take and celebrate authentic, intentional actions against systemic racism, injustice and inequality in all its forms. The hashtag #MyHuskerAction can be used to find and share actions aimed at changing racist and unjust practices, policies and behaviors.

My Husker Action is part of the university’s larger participation in CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion, the largest CEO- and president-driven initiative of its kind in the United States. The initiative calls for a specific set of actions that participating organizations will take to cultivate a trusting environment where all ideas are welcome and employees feel empowered to discuss diversity and inclusion.

Green signed the CEO Action commitment in 2018, marking the University of Nebraska–Lincoln as the first institution of higher learning in the state to join the movement.
