The CCFL Safety Committee has created the following resources to help make CCFL safer in emergency situations. This has been shared in the past, however, we have added several new staff members since the last time this was shared –and serves as a reminder to existing staff. Though many of us are currently working remotely, the staff is returning to the office and it is important we are all aware of the safety procedures the CCFL Safety Committee has developed to help keep us all as safe as possible during an emergency while in the office.

--CCFL Staff Mobile Phone Number: Please use the following form to share your mobile phone number for use in emergencies. Be sure to select whether your number is new or updated! https://go.unl.edu/ccfl-mobile-phone
--Personal Safety Plan (PSP): Please complete a PSP if you feel you may need any assistance in case of an emergency evacuation while at work: https://go.unl.edu/ccfl-psp
--AED: CCFL has an AED, located on the 10thfloor, across from the front desk (just north of the elevator doors).
--First Aid Kits: First aid kits are available for emergency use. The kits have not yet been mounted on the office walls, but the proposed locations are the 10th-floor kitchen(north), 10th-floor break area (south), 9th-floor kitchen (north), 9th-floor supply room (south). The 10th-floor kitchen first aid kit is the largest of the four kits, but all kits contain common first aid supplies such as bandages, gauze, etc.

--General Fire Safety/Evacuation Instructions for CCFL: When the Fire Alarm sounds, act immediately to ensure your safety. The Fire Alarm System is designed and engineered to provide you with an early warning to allow you to safely exit the building during an emergency situation.
•Never ignore or assume the alarm is false or the result of a test.
•Neveruse an elevator to exit during a fire alarm activation.
• Everyone must evacuate the building by way of the safest and closest exit and/or stairway.
•On your way out, encourage everyone you come in contact with to exit with you.
•Close (but do not lock) office doors as you exit.
•Once outside the building, move away from the building. Assemble at the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel.
•The front of the building is where the firefighters and fire trucks will be operating. Do not obstruct their access to the building.
•If there is an incident occurring on the upper floors and glass is being blown out of the windows, the area below is the hazard zone where serious personal injuries will happen. Do not remain in or near the hazard zone.
•Once outside, never re-enter the building until you are told to do so by the fire department or police
