Name: Jessica Cook. However, my name plaque still says Williams, as do several of my email addresses. Therefore, I often use Jessica Williams Cook. Anyone that knows me well calls me Jessie. Family often calls me Jess. My dad calls me JJ (Jessica Joann). My grandpa used to call me J Jaw. I have no idea why, and neither did he. Those who can’t recall my name often call me Jenny.

Job Title: Web Production Specialist

What is it they say you do:
I assist in building and/or maintaining websites and website content for several projects. I provide a variety of graphic design services (both online and print), field questions via the Answers4Families HelpLine, work with audio/video production and editing, and provide written and verbal technical assistance.

Where do you hail from:
I am a Lincolnite. My parents were living in California and were on a road trip to visit family in Virginia. When their car broke down near Hastings, they contacted my aunt who happened to live in Lincoln. My parents liked Lincoln and decided to make it their home. Several years later, I came to be – and never left.

Who are your early influences/who inspired you most:
My parents have inspired me to work hard and do good things in life. They are my main sources of inspiration. My friends have inspired me to try new and different things and taught me how to understand people. I have always found inspiration in those who continuously work to achieve their dreams, regardless of obstacles.

Family life/hobbies /community involvement:
My husband, Jason, and I have three dogs – Frank, Betty and Lou. We are both aquarium enthusiasts and keep two large fresh-water aquariums. I have a fondness for animals of all kinds – as evident by the rescue cat that lives very comfortably in my garage (even though my husband and I are allergic to cats). I love to camp, fish, garden, and generally be outdoors. I like to read, cook (but not bake), cross stich and re-create things I find on Pinterest. I am also training to volunteer with the Crisis Text Line, which is free texting-based support for those in crisis.

The quotation I live my life by is...... Este Optimi Inter Vos - which translated from Latin is Be Excellent to Yourselves. Okay, so the actual quote is “Be Excellent to Each Other” - Bill S. Preston, Esquire. And yes, that is a line from the movie: Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.
