Name: Jeffrey Max Chambers
Job Title: Project Director

Where do you hail from:
Somewhere amongst the pastures, fields, and wooded groves in the rolling hills of Northwest Missouri or on a small farm near Westboro at Latitude 40.5031, Longitude -95.3084 as your need for precision requires.

What is it they say you do:
They can and have said about anything from “I have no idea.” to “Something with research, data, families, and people.” They could say: I am a Project Director at the UNL-Center on Children, Families, and the Law helping to lead the Community Services efforts, which includes research and program evaluation; designing, creating, and managing data development systems; and providing system planning, implementation, and measurement on a wide range of human services areas including homelessness, juvenile justice, and child welfare. However, THEY are more likely to say: “Something to do with data and research stuff.”

Who are your early influences/who inspired you most:
My grandfathers inspired me. They were genuine, hard-working, good men that are worthy of emulation. Living and working in a fashion that would earn a simple, but high praise from either in the form of: “That’ll do.” or “Keep at it.” is reward above compensation.

What has been an unexpected detour/ greatest frustration/disappointment:
My greatest disappointment has been that I have yet to be drafted by any MLB club.

Family life/hobbies /community involvement:
My family and I spend a great amount of our time, passion, and expendable resources on our herd of registered Irish Dexter cattle. Each member of our family has found components of this activity we enjoy and appear to be proficient with. I thoroughly enjoy and immerse myself in the art of breeding production livestock, the science of genetics, the craft of animal husbandry, and the history of livestock breeding. Oh and it also keeps the family unit flush in high quality beef and dairy and plenty of physical exercise.

The quotation I live my life by is......
Aphorisms/quotes that serve as occasional anchors when appropriate and convenient:
“Don’t talk unless you can improve the silence.”-Jorge Luis Borges

“Retreat, hell! We're not retreating; we're just advancing in a different direction.” -General Oliver P. Smith

“If you’re going to talk to me, you’ll have to walk.”- Jack Beecham in Memory of Old Jack by Wendell Berry
