“Electric Lady” – Janelle Monae! -Madeline Deveney

For me, it has to be “Pool Spray” by Veil of Maya. In my interpretation, the song essentially is about a coming of age process where you realize that you and your life don't look like what you thought they would years ago when you were bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, but now it's your responsibility to handle both nonetheless.

Some good example lines of lyrics follow:
"I saw a vision where I was young and divine
Believed the fiction it pushed me over the line
I have lived in this vision for all my life And
Every moment that I have spent here is compromised
As I gain focus I see myself through a different light
And I've now noticed that I am not who I had in mind"

Lastly, I think the song is cool because it's a part of a new style of metal called djent, which uses guitars with more than six strings and tunes them really low to get a unique grungy sound. It's somewhat of a dark song, so I guess, listener be warned. –Matt Carlson

Not that I’d want to listen to it, but “Working Day and Night” would be fitting for much of my adult life. –Megan Paul
