On behalf of the Staff Council we would like to CONGRATULATE Jolene Walker and Gary Anderson as CEHS Staff Star Award recipients.
Jolene is the program coordinator for Nebraska Gateway to Nutrigenomics (NGN) in Nutrition and Health Sciences. Some of the things Jolene’s nominator shared about her are:
· Jolene is a jack of all trades who continues to go beyond the call of duty in everything she gets involved with.
· She has single-handedly created the NGN website, organizes the NGN seminar series and annual NGN retreats (including tracking down and flying in speakers from all over the country), and has been instrumental in putting together budgets for large scale grant applications such as COBRE and T32 predoctoral training grants.
· Jolene is self-sufficient, dependable, and there is an outstanding quality in her work, especially considering she squeezes all this effort into a part time position.
Gary is the assistant editor for the Buros Center for Testing. Some of the things Gary’s nominators said about him are:
Gary has served as assistant editor for Mental Measurements Yearbook for more than 20 years, but recently provided his talent in graphics to help promote a Spanish publication with advertisements and promotional materials.
He maintains and improves the our website, contributes in a major way to our database re-development project, serves on a great many search committees, and uses his personal iPad to Skype in staff members to meetings when necessary.
Gary’s incredible good nature is incredibly steady, making him a stabilizing presence with the Buros Center.
So, if you get a chance, stop by room 316 in Ruth Leverton Hall to congratulate Jolene, or room 21D in Teachers College Hall and congratulate Gary. They are both very deserving of this award!
