The Department of Textiles, Merchandising & Fashion Design’s Biennial Student Runway show will take place on Friday April 25 at 8:00 p.m. in the Nebraska Union’s Centennial Ballroom. Once again, students from TMFD, from the Hospitality, Restaurant and Tourism Management and the Catering programs in Nutrition & Health Sciences, from the Johnny Carson School of Theater and Film, from the Glenn Korff School of Music, and from the Department of Art & Art History will be joining creative forces to bring the campus and Lincoln communities a dazzling and unforgettable evening of style and creativity.

Seating is limited and is available only by advance ticket sales through the UNL Marketplace. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. on Friday March 7, 2014, at this link:

V.I.P. tickets at $100 each include a pre-show cocktail reception with hors d’oeuvres followed by a three-course dinner, including dessert by Hillis & Company, in the adjoining Regency Suite in the Union, and reserved front row seating at the show. Reserved premium seating tickets are $30 each, and unreserved “open” seating tickets are $10 each.

This year’s guest awards judges are native Nebraskans and TMFD alumnae Amanda Valentine and JLynn Hausmann. Nashville, TN-based Valentine appeared as a design contestant on Project Runway’s Season 11 series and operates Valentine, Valentine, a design and stylist consultancy. Hausmann is the principal behind JHaus Brand, a fashion denim company based in Los Angeles. In addition to selecting the Mary Mitchell Fashion Excellence Award winners the night of the show, the judges will each present a representative collection of recent creations from the respective lines.
