Two students from Nutrition and Health Sciences have earned cash awards for their research abstracts submitted for the Experimental Biology 2014 scientific meeting that will be held April 26-30 in San Diego. Meshail Okla was awarded $500 for an abstract in the category of energy and macronutrient metabolism, and Inhae Kang earned a $100 award in the category of phenolic compounds and human research. Both will be presenting their research at the conference.
Experimental Biology is the biggest international meeting held by the American Society for Nutrition (ASN) in cooperation with five other scientific societies. ASN has several Research Interest Sessions (RIS) based on areas of nutrition research. As an annual event, each RIS group selects outstanding research abstract submitted by graduate students.
