Tickets for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) and the Lincoln Community Playhouse's production of "Fiddler on the Roof, Sr.” are selling fast. The evening performance on Thursday, April 14 is sold out, but there are still tickets available for the 2 p.m. matinees on April 13 and 14. Tickets are $5 per person.

A cast of 40 will be performing on the Main Stage of the Lincoln Community Playhouse. “Fiddler” is the eighth Radio Active Players production. Members range in ages from 50 to 90, with the majority in their 60s and 70s. The oldest active performer is well into his 90s.

After 50 years, "Fiddler's" universal themes still resonate with audiences. “Fiddler” carries a strong emotional core associated with the musical’s songs of love and loss, all based on traditions that define faith and family. Songs in the show such as “Tradition,” “Sunrise, Sunset,” “If I Were a Rich Man,” and “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” are endearing, enduring and familiar to audiences everywhere.

“Fiddler” is directed by Morrie Enders, executive director of the Lincoln Community Playhouse, with Karen Howland, music director and Leta Powell Drake, OLLI facilitator.
