Hi Chemistry Rockstars! Can you believe it’s already Week 7?
Now’s a great time to pause, reflect, and make small adjustments to keep things balanced.

If your classes feel more demanding lately, you’re not alone! This is the time when coursework usually ramps up. Try setting aside a few minutes each day to review notes, organize assignments, or just check in with yourself about what’s working and what’s not. A little consistency now can make things feel much smoother later.

Don’t forget to enjoy the season while you’re at it. Take a walk through campus with a hot drink, grab a cozy study spot, or meet a friend for a pumpkin-flavored something. Sometimes the best recharge comes from simple moments!

This Week, Consider:

  • Scheduling your advising meeting before registration opens since spots fill quickly: Schedule Here
  • Checking your midterm grades and using them as information to plan your next steps
  • Previewing your Spring 2026 schedule in the Enrollment Scheduler
  • Swapping one “scroll break” for a stretch break or a quick walk while the weather is nice

Enrollment Planning:

  • Spring enrollment is right around the corner! Now’s the perfect time to prepare!
  • Now: Resolve any holds in MyRED before the end of October
  • October 6: Spring classes are visible in MyRED; start building and saving your favorite schedules (heart icon) under MyRED > Enrollment > Build Schedule & Enroll
  • October 27 – November 11: Priority Registration for continuing students — Find your assigned registration appointment time in MyRED (under “Messages”) on October 6. This is the soonest time you can enroll!
  • When your time opens: Enroll in classes! You can always tweak your schedule later. The last day to change your spring schedule is January 20
  • After enrolling: Run a new Degree Audit to ensure your classes count how you intended

Planning Tools:

Something to Look Forward To:

  • October 20–21: Fall Semester Break (Student Holiday – UNL offices open)

To Connect:

  • To schedule an advising appointment with me: Schedule Here
  • For quick questions (5–15 min), join a Virtual Zoom Drop-In. Drop-ins are first come, first served and you can meet with any BIOS/CHEM Advisor
  • For general questions or help scheduling, contact CAS Advising at 402-472-4190 during business hours (Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm)

You’re doing great. Keep going, stay curious, and make space for both focus and fun this fall.
