The Guatemalan ASB will occur from May 5-12. Applications are due February 28.
Students will be working with Constru Casa to build basic housing for families living in extreme poverty. Constru Casa works with local social organizations to identify families in need. Participants will have the opportunity to work alongside a family and engage in a homestay experience. This ASB experience will include a number of excursions to historic sites in Guatemala. Overall, this ASB opportunity will allow students to experience the Guatemalan culture along with serving and learning. The cost is estimated at $2,105, which includes transportation, lodging, and food. This does not include the cost of tuition.
An additional ASB will occur in Florida from March 15-23 and center on disaster relief caused by Hurricane Michael. Once there, students will learn more about disaster relief and its relation to housing and urban neighborhoods. More information on this ASB will be released the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
