Entrepreneurship means more than just launching a business. Learning about and being involved in entrepreneurship at Nebraska means developing a growth mindset and turning ideas into action, solving real problems and leading with innovation while diving into and experiencing topics like venture capital, franchising, family business, startup careers, scaling and growth, leadership and more.
Inside the classroom, you'll find that the entrepreneurship minor or the management major with the entrepreneurship and innovation option equips you with the tools, mindset and confidence to lead, pursue your passions and build your future.
Danae Contino, a graphic design major and entrepreneurship minor, said the minor helped her become more confident in her ideas. The professors, students, and staff have bolstered my confidence as I develop and grow my ideas and goals."
The minor is open to all majors at the university, making it a perfect complement to any field of study. If you’re a business major, the minor requires 12 credit hours, while non-business majors complete 18 credit hours. Through courses in entrepreneurial creativity, opportunity recognition, business model development, leadership, and innovation, you’ll build the skills to succeed no matter your chosen career path. You’ll gain hands-on experience through project-based learning, mentorship, and direct connections with Nebraska’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
