The second U.S.-Korea Geotech Workshop, hosted by the Korean Geotechnical Society – North America (KGS-NA), will be Thursday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m.

This year’s event, which facilitates collaboration between Korea-based and U.S.-based geotechnical scholars and engineers, will be conducted virtually on Zoom. It was originally scheduled to be hosted at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Attendees will be able to join from anywhere in the world, experience presentations, and, most importantly, connect with other attendees through the virtual platform.

The meeting program covers emerging geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering issues, addressing topics of interest to policy makers, administrators, practitioners, researchers, technical experts, and representatives of government, industry, and academic institutions. The 13 speakers from all over the world – including Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, and the U.S. – will present their current research.

The journal Infrastructure will be compiling presentation contents and papers for a special volume to be issued later.

Jongwan Eun, assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering, will serve as a co-chair of the workshop. Chung Song, associate professor of civil and environmental engineering, and Seunghee Kim, assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering, will participate in the workshop.
