New Student Experiential (Internship) Survey

Faculty are asked to encourage engineering students to fill out the new Student Experiential (Internship) Survey when they register for next semester’s classes in MyRed. The survey capturing Summer 2020 and Fall 2020 experiences is now open.

With this survey, the University and College of Engineering can have better data for reporting percentages of students securing internships and undergraduate research as well as their average salaries. It also provides data about student internships, research and other valuable experiential learning.

As students register for their next semester’s classes in MyRed, they will find a new experiential learning survey on their Message Center.

By encouraging engineering students to fill out this survey, we can have better data for reporting percentages of students securing internships and undergraduate research as well as their average salaries.

Some ways to support this push for data include:

  • Advertising it in your classes, via word of mouth in person or through an announcement in Canvas—simply alert your students that they’ll now find an experiential learning survey in MyRed and it’s important they fill it out.
  • Telling any students who work for your research projects to fill it out to ensure your important work is represented.
  • Communicating this to any of your student advisees in one-on-one appointments.
  • Reaching out to the Engineering Career Services - https://engineering.unl.edu/undergraduate-programs/career-services/ - team with questions.
