Nebraska Volleyball Day (Wednesday) creates changes for City Campus employees

For Nebraska Volleyball Day – Wednesday, Aug. 30 – Chancellor Rodney Bennett has declared an instructional continuity day (https://executivevc.unl.edu/academic-excellence/teaching-resources/instructional-continuity-guidance), meaning academic spaces on Lincoln’s City, East and Innovation Campuses will be closed to all activities not connected directly to the events in Memorial Stadium and other critical functions that require in-person working.

No in-person classes

Classes will not meet in person, and the majority of campus offices/facilities will be closed. Students should check for communications from their instructors for instructional continuity plans; only essential employees should report to work on campus; and all other employees should work remotely. Employees should consult with their supervisor to confirm if they are to work remotely or report to campus as part of an essential role.

Building access

Most academic buildings will only be accessible via NCard on Aug. 30. University Libraries will remain open to the campus community. The Nebraska Union, including the bookstore, will be open. The College of Law, College of Dentistry, College of Nursing and University Health Center also plan to be open. Visitors should go online or call ahead to confirm hours of other campus venues (museums, theaters, shops, etc.).

Parking

Employees who have an existing UNL parking permit and who will be working on campus must reserve a space at no cost through Parking and Transit Services. East Campus parking lots will serve as overflow parking. For more information, go to https://newsroom.unl.edu/announce/unlpts/16058/89186
