Friday is nomination deadline for college’s annual faculty and staff awards

Dear Colleagues:

The College of Engineering (COE) is pleased to announce the annual call for nominations for the college's faculty and staff awards. All nominations must be submitted online (link below).

This year, the COE Faculty Teaching Awards take on a new format. We recognize COE faculty members for exemplary performance in four categories:

  • Excellence in teaching
  • Undergraduate advising
  • Graduate mentoring
  • Inclusive teaching

Please note that 'Excellence in Graduate Student Mentorship' is a new recognition added to the COE faculty awards. This category honors faculty members who excel in guiding and supporting the growth of graduate students through thoughtful mentoring and a strong commitment to their academic and professional growth.

Additional adjustments have been made to the COE Faculty Research, Engagement, and Service awards. Please refer to the award website for more details. The COE Staff Awards continue to follow the new structure successfully established last year, celebrating staff members in six categories: leadership, service to students, service to faculty and staff, engagement, Complete Engineer®, and outstanding performance.

The timeline for this year’s awards cycle is as follows:
  • Friday, March 1, 5 p.m.: Deadline for completing on-line nomination forms (link below)
  • Monday, March 25: Award recipients and their nominators notified of results
  • Friday, April 5: College of Engineering Awards Luncheon (site and time TBA)
  • May 2024: Awards processed by payroll.

The College of Engineering is fortunate to have outstanding faculty and staff, and we encourage you to nominate your peers/co-workers or yourself for these important awards.

We look forward to celebrating the outstanding work that all of you do for the College of Engineering. If you have questions regarding these awards, please contact Yusong Li, Associate Dean for Faculty and Inclusion, at yli7@unl.edu.

Sincerely,

Lance C. Pérez,
Dean, University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Engineering
