April 7 interactive panel to focus on effective STEM mentoring

All University faculty, staff, postdoctoral fellows and students are invited to attend an interactive panel on effective mentoring practices in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The event is set for April 7 from 2-3:30 p.m. in the Willa Cather Dining Complex, Red Cloud A.

Attendees will gather valuable information on practical mentoring strategies, fostering supportive professional environments, promoting career development and navigating common mentor-mentee challenges.

Panelists include:

• Marianna Burks, assistant professor of practice, School of Biological Sciences.
• Erin Carr, postdoctoral research associate, chemical and biomolecular engineering.
• Milad Roohi, assistant professor, Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction.
• Rebecca Roston, associate professor, biochemistry; Ralph and Alice Raikes Chair in Plant Sciences.
• Guy Trainin, professor, teaching, learning and teacher education.
