Libraries offer seminar on partnerships, affordable educational content

The UNL Libraries on Thursday, April 5, is offering a day of presentations and discussions on “Lowering Prices, Raising Value: Affordable Education at Nebraska,” with Kristi Jensen, program development lead for the eLearning Support Initiative at the University of Minnesota Libraries.

The sessions are:

·         10-11:15 a.m. (Love Library South 218) – Visiting Scholars Presentation: Jensen will give a presentation – “Libraries & Affordable Content: Partnerships, Incentives, and Impacts” – on the role of libraries in supporting affordable educational content initiatives, drawing primarily from her extensive experience in this area.
·         11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. (Nebraska Innovation Campus, B Rooms) – Campus Conversations: Jensen will present “Setting Yourself Up for Success with OER: Find It, Use It, Create and Share It!” on how faculty can re-think the resources they currently use for courses and how to better incorporate affordable content.
·         1:30-3 p.m. (Nebraska Innovation Campus, B Rooms) – “Continuing the Conversation” Panel: Jensen will moderate a panel of faculty from all four campuses, who will be sharing their experience incorporating open and affordable educational resources in their courses.
