RESEARCH REMINDERS: Poster session & workshops

The college is hosting the Engineering Undergraduate Summer Research Program Poster Session on Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 9-10:30 a.m. in the SEC first floor hallway. The poster session will feature the visiting undergraduate students who are performing research in our labs this summer -- nine in biomedical engineering, 10 in sustainability of civil infrastructure, 10 in unmanned systems and five from Yachay Technical University.

A full-day Flame Weeding Workshop will be held Aug. 19 at the Eastern Nebraska Research and Extension Center near Mead. Attendees will learn how to do proper flaming control over 10 major Midwestern weeds in seven agronomic crops – field corn, sweet corn, popcorn, soybeans, sorghum, sunflowers and wheat.

A Professional Grant Development Workshop will be held Aug. 14-15 at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. This intensive two-day grant proposal workshop is geared towards those who wish to strengthen their grant writing skills, as well as beginners who wish to acquire and master the techniques of preparing and writing winning proposals to various funding agencies. The focus will be on how to effectively write proposals in times of keen competition and limited resources.
